“The Boondocks” Season 4

Whenever I saw a black woman on the Boondocks she was the stereotypical black woman. A hoe, loud, annoying, aggrvating, unattacrtive, and etc. With the black male characters there is a wide spectrum of personalities. Huey is the conscious black mind, riley is really the riley contemporary hood black mind, Grandpa represents the older black people who have learned to happy because they are not on a plantation while at the same time being quietly pro black, uncle ruckus literally represents the extreme!!!! I remember the episode of him finding out his Irish heritage and being super happy. I found it insulting that Uncle Ruckus found Ebony to be the perfect black woman. I also wish that the kids at least had a present black grandmother. I feel like that would have been fun.

Main characters[ edit ] The Freeman family[ edit ] The Freeman family in the Boondocks series is portrayed as an all-male trio with each having very different personalities. The main protagonist is Huey, though the series doesn’t always portray episodes being issues of his problems. Huey has the brains of a child genius , though he does not seem self-aware of it.

Riley is the streetwise Freeman child of always speaking what’s on his mind, and more open to speak up than Huey is—for the most part. The members of the family really don’t get along, and seem kind of drifted from each other, except in the episode “Guess Hoe’s Coming to Dinner”, then Huey and Riley worked together as one to find out the truth about Cristal.

The Boondocks is an animated series that aired intermittently on from to , running for a total of four seasons with 55 episodes. It was adapted from the comic strip of the same name that was created by Aaron McGruder.. Like the comic strip, this series focused on the lives of the Freemans, a black family from inner city Chicago who move into the mostly white suburb of Woodcrest, Maryland.

Kentaro Miura uses Rule of Cool to sprinkle his fantasy world with weapons, armors, costumes, architecture, and technology from various real life cultures and eras, to the point where it’s hard for the layperson to distinguish between what he made up and what he borrowed from history.

Miura loves to draw elaborate and fantastical armors with animal-shaped parts and other decoration, many of which did not exist but are inspired by almost equally wild parade and costume armors that survive in museums; he even directly copies some museum pieces, such as the armor worn by lord Gennon in the Battle of Doldrey which is shaped to simulate puffed-and-slashed clothing of the early 16th century. So, the name ” Secret Intelligence Service ” seemed too “spy-like” to be real and looks like a fictional agency created by the show.

Ruckus and how he treats other black people. The characters don’t age despite the fact the series takes place in the “present day”. Huey should now have been far older than ten when Obama was elected, for example. In “The Trial of R. Kelly”, a jury full of R. Kelly fans are easily convinced that the trial was all about racism against the defendant.

Never mind that there’s a lot of damning evidence against R. In the same episode, Uncle Ruckus claims to have served on a mostly white jury in the s, where he convicted a blind black man of shooting white women. Milton Berle was sentenced to death for the murder of a cop, even though the real killer, Eli Gorbinsky, shouted to everyone that he did it, and left all the evidence at the scene.

Comically Missing the Point: Ruckus has a seething hatred of black people and everything about them despite not only being black, but being one of the darkest skinned characters in the series. He insists he has “that thing Michael Jackson had, but in reverse. The “Nigga Moment” is essentially this In-Universe. It describes a moment when ignorance overwhelms the mind of an otherwise logical black man, causing him to act in an illogical, self-destructive manner, such as getting into a shootout over a guy brushing against their shoulder on the street.
